Dicks Dam Park
As most people who know me will tell you one of my favourite spots in Bolton is Dicks Dam Park. Nestled along the Humber River this park is appealing to the eye, and the spirit, with a small bridge over the Humber River that many of you will recognize from my photography and, in fact, my FaceBook page. So when the opportunity to support tree planting initiatives there arose my husband and I jumped at it. In fact Green T Environmental Awareness did as well. And so did several other organizations……all joined in to add to the grants obtained by dedicated Bolton environmentalist Richard Hunt who, like our family, sees the value in trees. Trees that cool the urban landscape, clean the air, prevent soil erosion, assist with water drainage, provide shade for a picnic, lush greenery for the eye, and a rustling in the wind that nourishes your soul. And so it was that on Sunday June 3rd a number of us gathered with Richard in Dicks Dam Park for some mutual congrats and to enjoy the trees. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. And a special thank you to Richard.
